After you are picked up in Jerusalem there is a short 20-minute drive to Bethlehem where you will meet the Palestinian guide.
The Church of Nativity and Manger Square is a highlight of the trip for many people. The birthplace of Jesus is revered around the world. You'll also wander through the alleys of the adjacent Old City of Bethlehem and visit the markets there.
You'll visit the Separation Barrier and see some of the amazing graffiti, much of it painted by visitors from abroad, including the famous artist, Bansky. The Wall has separated Jerusalem from Bethlehem and the vast majority of Palestinian are no longer able to enter Jerusalem, including your guide.
You'll visit the Aida Refugee Camp where several generations of Palestinians have lived since 1948, and have not been allowed back to their homes in Israel. The camp is managed by a United Nations agency and remains one of the poorest districts in Bethlehem. You'll visit a community organisation in the camp and have a discussion with one of the officials there.
Above all, your guide is a trove of information about the places you are visiting and the impact of the Occupation on the people of Bethlehem. He is a a resident of Bethlehem and is more than happy to answer any questions about Palestinian society.
